The canonical link for our paginated blog pages isn’t correct.

    URL: https://www.domain.com/blog/page/2/
    Canonical: https://www.domain.com/blog/

Any idea what could be causing this?

if it matters, the Blog page is using its own template in the theme and is not selected under Settings > Reading > Posts page. Doing so results in the blog page outputting the contents of the home page. So we leave it unselected.

    Thanks

    Hello ??

I fixed all possible clauses regarding pagination in the v3.2.4 update. I just reverified this to be working as intended.

Provided that your theme is doing substandard things, I believe that the theme is the source of the issue: it’s creating a custom query, which is likely incomplete, and incompatible with conventional “blog detection”: is_home().

If you can find a way to make the blog page to work the “WordPress way?”, then your issue will be resolved. You might be better off reaching out to the theme developer if this issue can’t be resolved in the aforementioned manner.

I hope this clears things up! Good luck ??
