• Hello,
    Demos cannot be installed, no matter which demos are to be imported, the import of the XML files fails.
    The following error message is displayed:
    ‘Can not retrieve sample data xml file. The server may be down at the moment please try again later. If you still have issues contact the theme developer for assistance. ’

    Is there another way to import demos?
    Thank you for your help

  • Hello @marlilli,

    Thank you for reaching out,

    I’ve just tested it and didn’t find any issues with importing the demo. The demo was imported completely.

    However, there might be a temporary issue on our server that can cause slow speeds or unavailability for a limited number of users at a time, especially when there are many import requests. Also, server issues from your end can also have an impact.

    For the first case, you can try importing the demo again after a few minutes. Or if the demo imported uncompleted, you can use the steps explained at this link to reset the demo and try to re-importing data:
    https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/728-how-to-switch-different-demo

    But for the second case, you should configure your server settings to adjust the data import (considering the amount of data being imported) before importing the demo.
    https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/538-demo-is-not-fully-imported

    There is another way to import demos, here we’ve explained it:
    https://docs.oceanwp.org/article/52-importing-the-sample-data

    Host configurations: To access these fields please edit “php.ini” file which is located in host (if you can’t find it then contact your host service provider)

    upload_max_filesize = 32M
    post_max_size = 48M
    memory_limit = 512M
    max_execution_time = 800
    max_input_vars = 10000
    max_input_time = 900

    WordPress Configurations:

    I hope it helps.

    Hello Everyone,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    @guillem09,
    Could you please try again?

    I just tested it and didn’t see any issues on my end. I also imported a demo. It was an issue on our server, but it should be resolved for everyone now.

    If it doesn’t work again on your end, please let me know which dome you want to import I’ll send a link to download it manually.

    Please recheck it and keep us posted.

    Hello Everyone,

    @leanomachado and @salias

    Thank you for reaching out and sorry for the inconvenience,

    It seems that some users are facing this issue but not all, we will investigate this issue and let you know the result.

    For now, you can import demos manually, here is the demo files: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p4IDFG9h-AUaawSGdHIsYeUljhlYZiaN?usp=sharing

    Choose your demo, then find the following formats and import them manually
    1. .xml : import via WP dashboard, Tools > Import > Import WordPress (you might need to “install” this option first and activate as a plugin, but you can remove it after the upload.

    2. .dat : import via WP dashboard, OceanWP > OceanWP Panel > Customizer > Customizer Styling Import & Export. Use the Import option.

    3. .wie : you can skip this import and simply create your own widgets via Appearance > Widgets. Or, you can install a plugin called Import Export Widgets, then import this file, and then remove the plugin
    Let me know if this helps

    4. .json : this file is related to WPForm plugin which you can import it to have the form on the demo

    At the end, set the main menu and set the pages like home and blog from WordPress Settings

    I hope it helps.

    Thank you for using OceanWP, and I appreciate your patience.
    Warm Regards
