    Hello?

    Why are so many WP plugin developers flaky?

    The only way to post to Facebook accurately is to turn this freakin’ plugin off. The problem will also affect Google rankings and more.

    Also, there’s still the issue with the register button as I indicated in an earlier post.

    Let us know when you return to Earth.

    Why are so many WP plugin developers flaky?

    Personally, I believe it’s from dealing with unhappy users while working for a living and providing free plugins and support on what little free time they have. But that’s just what I think. ??

    The meta output by Ajax Login Register Meta Tags is incorrect.

    Can you produce what the tags are and what you believe they should be? That may be more productive than referring to the author as “flaky”.

    For the author: @zane Matthew – the way to see an example of the output errors by Ajax Login Register Meta Tags that I’m referring to are in my first post [ pointless insult also redacted ]. Looking forward to a fix for this and the register button. Will donate. Thanks, and cheers!

    Hi,

    I used the Facebook Debugger with your URL and I did not see any errors. However, I do see an error saying “og:url” is invalid when I use the demo URL with the FB debugger.

    I’ve added this as a bug in our GitHub issue tracker.

    Regarding your issues with timeliness and support, you are correct. This past week I was actually on my belated honeymoon and with limited access to the internet. I am currently setting-up an in-house support forum which will have official support hours and possibly priority support.

    Hi AME,

    I’ve fixed the issue in the latest release on GitHub. I’ve tested with the FB debugger using our demo site. I did have to add the og:title tag due to the FB debugger asking for it.

    Please note that if other plugins are in use that are using FB meta tags the debugger may throw an error due to duplicate tags. This isn’t something I can programmatically combat. Rather what I’ll need to do is allow the user the option to “turn off/on” FB tags as they see fit. I’ve added that as [another issue](https://github.com/zanematthew/zm-ajax-login-register/issues/42) to handle at a later time.

    If you have a GitHub account please feel free to leave comments on the issue here:

    Zane,

    Excellent, and thanks! Can we just use the WP plugins dash to update the plugin?

    And congrats on your marriage. All the best!

    Yes, you can we just released version 1.0.6, which addresses some of your issues.

    However what was slated was the ability to control which FB og tags are in use. That would combat the issue when another plugin is in use that already adds FB og tags.

    @zane Matthew – Sounds good… any idea when will that version be available?

    Thanks.

    @ame Network,

    The plugin was updated to version 1.0.6 on Friday, June 13.

    If you haven’t had a chance to update, please do so.

    Thanks,
    Diana

    @diana,

    The question was clearly for Zane. We’ll wait for an answer from him. We have no idea who you are and prefer to communicate with the actual developer as to whether version 1.0.6 addresses the additional issues we’ve been discussing.

    Thanks,

    Hi AME,

    The latest version is 1.0.6, this one includes the adjustments for the FB og tags. Regarding the ability to control which FB og tags are in use that will be updated in the latest version, which I’m aiming at having released by the end of this month.

    P.S., Diana works with me and has contributed to the plugin along with others. Its my fault for not listing her as a contributor to the plugin.
