Incorrect or confusing instructions
-
I really like Duplicator. I use it to bundle up a release on a dev site and unpack it to my live site. This seems to work very well; however, once the migration is complete, Duplicator warns me that certain files need to be removed, manually if necessary. Since the plugin itself wasn’t removing them, I located the dup-installer directory, which Duplicator identified as one of the files needing to be removed, and rm’d it. That resulted in wp-admin not working, and I am now re-migrating my site to fix it. It’s possible I misunderstood something, but the instructions gave a list of files to rm, and dup-installer (entire directory) was one of them. This dir was in /wp-content/plugins/duplicator/installer/. Needless to say, I’m going to be ignoring this warning from now on, since rm’ing this dir manually obviously is not the right thing to do.
But anyway, that’s why the four-not-five stars.
