• Hello there,

While the plugin has been running quite fine for a while (love that I can use my own styling!) it has recently returned to using a weird fallback(?) template that just looks very ugly.

This is what an attachment sent along with the invoice email looks like now: https://imgur.com/a/rIZ8ZoJ

I’ve tried re-applying the settings in the plugin settings and have also checked the files to see if they’re still accessible in the theme folder.

    Thank you,
    Thomas

    Hello Thomas,
That is quite strange – it looks as though this can’t read the settings properly, being unable to locate or read the header image. The rest of the layout is just the default layout of the free Simple template. Is this on a multisite installation by any chance? Any other plugins that may affect the settings (WPML for example, and if so, just the free version or our Professional extension too?)

Nothing has changed in how the template is used or how these settings are stored (unless you recently upgraded from a very old (1.X version to the latest 2.1.8), so I’m not sure what else could be at play here.

Let us know what you find!

The interesting thing is that when I look on the FTP server, in the attachment folder (/wp-content/uploads/wpo_wcpdf/attachments) I see a mix of correct (39kb) and incorrect (214kb) invoices being sent out: https://imgur.com/a/qElQdDa

The site is just a regular wordpress installation and does rely on WPML (3.9.4), WPML String Translation (2.7.3), WPML Translation Management (2.5.2) and a bunch of other WPML related plugins: https://imgur.com/a/b8eXpRt

Do you think it might have to do with memory issues? When I look at the status page of your plugin it is complaining about memory limits. I can look into the hosting settings if that might affect it: https://imgur.com/a/ZZfJB6N

    Hello Thomas,
If you are using WPML, than that may indeed be the root cause. While the free plugin does work with WPML to a degree, it is not 100% compatible – for some people it works without any additional configurations while for others it doesn’t. It’s possible that the PDF invoice plugin is reading different settings per language on your site – that’s the only explanation I can think of now. Lack of memory is not likely to cause the template to be switched, and you have 512M for PHP which should be more than enough (the plugin reports both values of WP & PHP because it depends on the specific configuration which of the two prevails, but it’s unlikely yours is actually 40M).

For full WPML compatibility, we have the professional extension which adds additional functionality for making the settings translatable and making sure that the correct language is always used regardless of the context. Due to the complex nature of WPML, we can’t offer this support as part of the free plugin.
If you already have a license for the Professional extension, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help. www.ads-software.com does not allow us to use these forums for support for our paid extensions.

    Thanks!
