Hiya, I really like this theme, however, my site title font seems to be arial or the like. I picked this theme as it was feminine but the title font was quite “rock n roll”. Now it’s just boring arial (excuse the pun). Do you know why the font isn’t showing correctly as advertised in the theme? I’d love to use the font in the preview as advertised. Help? Thank you ??

Actually, it’s not automatically rendered, I used a photo editor and created it as a logo and I uploaded it using the logo uploader feature.

If you are interesting to know which font I used you can take a look at this link https://www.dafont.com/pt/kolkata-hotelroom.font

Thanks! Not to be rude but, isn’t the point of a theme to look like it’s advertised? I don’t understand why a theme is showcased one way but when you use it, it looks totally different! Is there a way to use the theme so that it looks how it’s advertised? I like this theme ALMOST! I like how it’s advertised not how it actually looks ??

    bctcblog,

let me try to explain you. When someone creates a theme to make it avaliable on here, we have certain rule to be follow. For example, I can’t make a logo image as default title, because not anyone has a logo to be use on his/her site, sometimes people just want to use a text instead a logo and it is required for the theme to be accepted.

Also, not all fonts are compatible to be used on web browsers, there are some limitations about that, that’s why I didn’t use Kolkata Hotelroom font on this theme, but I do let an png example at img folder to be used if someone needed a reference.

Another example, on my showcase, I printed a screen of my front page, but again, I cannot use a front page as a default home page because blog page has to be the default one. I think that’s why people think they will get the same image on the showcase on the first time they install my theme, but some changes at Settings > Reading is needed first.

You can get exactly the same thing displayed on the showcase here, you just need to make some changes.

Thank you for explaining further – I think I understand! So basically, if I want my site to look like yours, the easiest thing for me to do would be to make my own header image (using the text link you send me maybe?) and uploading it as a “logo”. That way my site will say Boring Cape Town Chick in the scratchy text I used. Do you think that would work?

    Yes, that’s it.

You just need to use any photo editor to do it, using a transparent background (of course) and saving it as .png to keep the transparency.

And if you want to have the same look as the showcase you need to folow those steps:

    1. Create two WordPress Pages from the “Add New Page” panel. If you will not be using WordPress blogging functionality, you can skip the second page.

    2. Title the first page “Home” (or another name) as your “static” front page. Publish the Page.

    3. Title the second page “Blog” (or you could call it “News”, “Articles”, etc.). This page will be a place-holder for showing the Posts on your site. DO NOT add content to the Blog Page. Leave it blank. Any content here will be ignored — only the Title is used. Publish the Page.

    4. Go to Administration > Settings > Reading panel.

Set ‘Front page displays:’ to ‘a static page’ and choose the first page you created above for ‘Front page.’ If your WordPress site will contain a blog section, set ‘Posts page’ to the page you created for this above. Otherwise, leave this blank. Click Save Changes.

Thanks for your help. I haven’t managed to figure out how to make a text image in FotoR yet (and save as transparent) but I did a tester logo and it worked. So thanks for your help ??
