Incorrect URL or Plain Permaling

  • Hello,

    I am new so my apologies if I do this wrong but I really need some help. I successfully installed WordPress and everything was working fine until I try to integrate CJ dropshipping which will be my supplier.

    I went to the Rest API and generated the key fine. But when I fill the information on CJ it provided the error below:

    “Incorrect URL or “Plain” permalink, click Settings > Permalinks > Common Settings, then choose another.”

    I followed the steps and went to the permalink settings and tried every one of them but I kept getting the error whatever the way I filled them in. So I contacted CJ and they told me that this error is not on their end. So now I am contacting you.

  • The admin Settings > Permalinks are for the posts that you write, and have nothing to do with any external site.
    Is this where you were trying to “fill the information of CJ”?
    There is nothing in WordPress that automagically interacts with an external API.
    If you have a plugin to handle that, you should be putting the information into the plugin’s settings page, and not the WordPress Permalink settings. Any other questions about plugins should be asked in the plugin’s support forum.

    You can deactivate all plugins and explore the admin, so you know which part comes with WordPress and which part is added by a plugin.

    What I did is generate API key (Rest API) through the WooCommerce Advanced Settings and it provided a Consumer Key and a Consummer Secret. I copied and paste this information to CJ website in order to authorize my store and then it provided the error.

    OK, well Woocommerce is a plugin, so if you have any problems with it, you need to ask at the plugin’s support forum.

    It sort of sounds like something doesn’t like the permalink choice you made, but I really don’t know anything about woo or CJ.
