I love this plug-in but have hit a snag after upgrading my camera recently. For some reason, any shot taken with the new camera (a Nikon D810) results in the “Camera” field of the output showing “CORPORATION”. Looking at the images, the metadata seems fine and can be read by several other applications without problems. You can see the latest example at https://www.davewilsonphotography.com/2015/04/28/founders-day-2015-3/. If I download the image (using right click, “Save Image As…”), the metadata appears correct so this is a parsing problem rather than something getting messed up in the upload. Can you offer any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Dave Wilson

@mremonen The links you gave were not found, so I can only assume that if you are having the same issue it is caused by Lightroom & PHP EXIF not working together and the only thing I can suggest, as above, is to not export the camera make, only the model, when exporting photos from Lightroom.

@kristarella: the links work ok, if you just remove the last parentheses “)”, which this posting app wronlgy assumes to be part of the address. Anyway, I quess that I’m having the same problem and if the solution is to strip the camera model from Lr export, I’m good.

    Thanks.

@mremonen Sorry I missed that with the URLs. I guess I was in a hurry earlier.

I’ve had a quick look and it does look like the same problem.

You can keep Model in the Lr export. The problem is with the Make field, so exclude that one.

Although with your two cameras the Nikon says “Nikon” in the model name, but the Sony doesn’t. You might want to prepend “Sony” to your model number in the EXIF for photos with that camera.

Hi, I’m the owner of a photography community and I found this thread while researching this same issue. I’m not sure if this will help or not … but I suspect it is being caused by the new Lightroom 6 and Lightroom CC. I didn’t notice this issue until 6 came out and everyone who is affected in my community just upgraded to 6. Perhaps a coincidence, but just thought I would mention my suspicion in case it helps anyone here.

I had the same issue and it drove me nuts. I can confirm that Lightroom 6 is to blame. There’s quite a few forum threads about with users complaining about it.

I confirmed by using an image in WordPress that was edited previously with LR5 and a new one edited with LR6, and the LR6 image didn’t show up the camera make/model.

    Here’s a very rough workaround: https://blog.tookapic.com/how-to-fix-corupted-exif-data-in-your-lightroom-6cc-exported-photos/

Hope this helps someone else and they can save a few grey hairs.

    Thanks jb01,

It’s probably quicker to exclude the Camera Make from the metadata section of your export, since WordPress doesn’t use that bit anyway.

Thanks for the info. In my case, it isn’t my photos that I’m having a problem with, it’s everyone in my community (or at least those who shoot with nikons). But I’ll post the info for them.
