• I’d gotten my TTFB down to 0.2 seconds but needed to serve images in nextgen format. Your plugin definitely works for me in that regard but it has increased my TTFB to 1.38 seconds. I am currently using it in conjunction with the cache on WP Optimize and Smush. Anyway, I’ll need to deactivate your plugin for now, which is a shame because it does do what it says it will out of the box but I can’t afford the performance hit right now. If you could think of a way to resolve this issue or any trouble shooting I might be able to do, I would love to hear it though.

Hm. I think the only thing my plugin does that increases TTFB would be the Alter HTML feature. You can disable that. But with page caching, the Alter HTML feature ought not to be a problem

It is btw quite a big TTFB increase you are reporting! On a smaller site of one of my customers, enabling Alter HTML increases TTFB from ~150ms to ~200ms (tried both “picture tag syntax” and “replace image urls” – they both add ~50ms to TTFB on that site)

(The site I tested this on is btw https://lutzenmanagement.dk/)
