• The “UPload New Media” in the WP Dashboard shows a maximum upload size of 25MB. How can I increase that?

I’m using a theme I purchased through themeforrest a year ago.

    Thanks
    Deborah

  • Discuss with your webhost, large file uploads can greatly impact server performance and most actually limit it to less than that…If you have a video, try using a third party like youtube or vimeo as you would also be getting a bandwidth usage hit (from host) perhaps…

Thank you. I can appreciate your concern for “those who” impact server performance by uploading huge files. That said, that is NOT who I am — nor do I plan to upload huge files.

I have an audio file that’s 30MG. The limit shown for this particular WP site is 25MG. I have another website where the max upload size is 64MB. I do not understand how it is different — same host.

So, I’d still like to know how to increase that limit.

Can anyone help me out with this?

It’s a PHP configuration setting, not a WordPress limitation. Some hosts allow you to change the default with your own configuration file.

Which is why you need to ask your host.

OK. It’s HostGator. I will contact them. Thank you.
