Increase Meta, Link widget numbers

  • Hi,

    So I’ve customised my theme to have 2 dynamic sidebars, which works great apart from the problem that I want to have Meta and Links widgets appear on both sidebars, but WP doesn’t have options to increase the numbers of them.

    I’m not too good at php, and was wondering if anyone has re written the meta widget to include number selecting options like the text widget?

  • ShaZam – You hit the nail squarely on the head!

    I also ran out of “text” widgets on 2 dynamic side bars.

    That particular category should be unlimited unless there is some MySql database limitation etc.

    I went into my professional php editor and nothing was obvious to me (a non-php coding pro), when peeking around in widgets.php

    Some php coding pro surely would know where to alter this code limitation etc.

    The text widget gives wordpress truly professional fire power to the non-expert.

    Absolutely! Any help on increasing the number of text widgets? They also desperately need to include a php widget like Sidebar Module plugin used to have.

    Consider downloading and installing Otto’s php code widget to act both as a ‘php widget’ and get an idea of how to code for multiple instances of a widget.
