Incredible amounts of SPAM

I must get a SPAM comment about every 5 minutes. I wake up in the morning, check my email and I must have 100 new SPAM comments.

Seeing as the commenting feature isn’t really necessary, I went ahead and deleted “wp-comments-post.php” which didn’t do anything. I seem to be getting hit just as bad, if not worse. I’m up-to-date on my wordpress, 2.1.
