More Ver 7 weirdness. If I click “Blocked” in main WF nav I get a list of blocked IP numbers. If I browser search for those IP numbers in “Live Traffic” they’re not found.

Am trying for hours to figure out some way to find out what URLs are being blocked due to my “Immediatly Block URLs” settings. Thought above might at least get me closer.

    Any ideas Wordfence folks?

  • Hello!
I would not recommend searching via the browser for IPs in Live Traffic as you would then have to expand all historical records before you can find anything. I would use the Live Traffic Advanced filter and filter by IP address there.

That said, blocks can persist even after your Live Traffic log has “rotated”. If you are on a server with decent resources you can increase the amount of rows that are stored in Live Traffic. The option is here:

Tools > Live Traffic > Live Traffic Options > Amount of Live Traffic data to store (number of rows).

Yes, even using Live Traffic Advanced Filter I can not find older blocked IP numbers. I can’t afford money to upgrade server just to allow more rows in Live Traffic storage. Everything used to work fine in Version 6. MTN

Okay! I tested to make sure and filtering Live Traffic to find requests from an IP listed on the “Blocking” page works for me. I’m guessing that you are searching for an IP that was blocked too long ago in relation to how many records are saved in your Live Traffic.

If you can’t find a request in Live Traffic you can always double check in the raw access logs on your server. Those will contain infinite records of all traffic on your site if you have them set to be saved permanently.

Agree, server logs are key, sadly I thought Wordfence would be a good front end for such, back to basics… MTN
