Incredibly unreliable for Subscriptions

The amount of potential subscribers I’ve lost over many months because the “payment method could not be saved” and their order was automatically cancelled is staggering. All I can do then is to contact them and ask them to use a different payment method which only works a fraction of the time and makes me feel embarrasingly unprofessional.
I deeply regret introducing PayPal for WooCommerce and will most likely go through the pain of contacting all existing subscribers and begging them to switch to a different, working payment option.
Support knows about this but can’t solve it. For over half a year now.
If your Subscriptions run on Stripe and you’re considering introducing PayPal, don’t.
