I just purchased the Core Bundle today for a new site, and when I input the 16 digit license value and my registered email address in the fields, and hit enter, I get the following error message:

Operation timed out after 2000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

I’m hosting on WP Engine, but haven’t had trouble registering WP JM plugins in the past.

  • This is for paid plugin and should be directed to support via wpjobmanager.com, but as I know that they are unavailable until April 11th, i’ll try and help out.

The issue you have is that your server can’t connect to WPJM licensing server, the next step would be to make sure your hosting company has not blocked connection to their server, specifically wpjobmanager.com. You can test this if you have SSH by doing a simple ping to wpjobmanager.com and see if you get a reply. You can also contact your hosting company and ask them if they have blocked connection to that address.

Also make sure you have any firewall plugins disabled, or anything else that could possibly mangle wp_remote_get() calls

Thanks for the advice, tripflex. Whatever the issue, I was able to register the license immediately today.

With the 2000 ms timeout specifically, most likely, this is due to the Envato Toolkit plugin being installed on your site. The Envato plugin is overriding the default amount of time your server will wait for a response for all outbound requests, not just the ones intended.

We’ve sent pull requests up to their repo and the upstream library they’re using, but I don’t believe they’ve been reviewed yet.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or need anything else.
