Hi guys. I noticed that non subpage works on my small website… It returns “Not found” error in browser. After checking my mailbox it turned out that I got a notification about removing index files from caching folders 4 days ago. Do you know this problem and is there anything I can do to recover my pages?

    Cheers,
    Michal

Hi @szogaj, thanks for reaching out!

I did a quick look at your site’s pages (cool website, btw!) and have yet to find any 404 pages so far. What’s an example of a subpage that’s not working? Can you check if these subpages were created by you or by your caching plugin?

I assume you received a File Change notification about the removed index.html files from your caching folders. If so, it’s highly likely that these files were auto-generated by your caching plugin, which is essentially pre-generated versions of your pages, etc., to improve performance and that the caching plugin was just doing its job in clearing out the outdated cache files to free up space.

If the pages were from your caching plugin, I recommend reviewing how your caching plugin works and its settings to determine if the removal of the index files was expected. I also suggest reaching out to their support team for confirmation.

Hope this helps, and feel free to let us know what you find.

    Hi there,

I hope the previous reply was helpful. Tracking notifications on this forum can become tricky over time, and since we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this post resolved.

If you still require further assistance, feel free to open a new support topic, and we’d be happy to assist.

    Thank you!
