index is appearing as IN a category depending on latest post

  • Hi all,

    My site betterretailing.com is doing something a little annoying. Whatever the latest post is, the index page is coming up as IN that category. For instance, if you go to the homepage and look at the source code you’ll see a hidden link to the category ‘money’. That’s coming from where I’ve put a call to the_category in the header.

    The reason it is a problem is because my navigation links have various if statements for if in_category(x) which then styles it up in a certain way.

    Any reason anyone can think of for this? I’ve never seen anything like it before on WP.
