Index page in PRO won’t update

I originally had three terms where I had wrapped the title in term title to make it italic. I realized that this was a mistake because the code was then seen as a bizarre first character that created a link before A on the generated Index page. I then renamed them, removing the formatting code. They still showed the same way. Then I deleted them completely. They still show up on the index page. How can I get the index page to update and reflect how I now have all terms set up? If I display the page with empty=false added to the shortcode those entries don’t display on the index page and neither do unused letters. I want all letters of the alphabet to show across the top even if there are no terms in them AND I want the deleted terms that started with to not show as well as the link showing up before the letter A at the top of the index page.
