    Hello,
    I’ve noticed that something is wrong with my sitemap because I get “This is not a valid URL. Please correct it and resubmit.” at line 23 in google search console. So I’ve looked into it and it shows that I’ve got 6 sitemaps instead of 5. I got one extra blank sitemap which shouldn’t be there. What I tried so far: deactivating the sitemap and reactivate, clearing the cache (litespeed cache) and still there. Also I’m using woocommerce. Thanks

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello Valker,

    Thank you for reaching out regarding your sitemap. I can confirm that the sitemap index reports having 6 sitemaps but I see only five. See screenshot. You mentioned having one extra blank sitemap which shouldn’t be there; I couldn’t see that from my end. Can you share the URL, please?

    Hello and thank you for your help. The problem is that I don’t know which url or settings causing this is. In view source code, I get this blank line:
    <sitemap><loc></loc></sitemap></sitemapindex>
    which I supposed the url goes between loc tags. But I don’t know why this is not deleted by yoast if it’s empty..

    Hello?
    Still can’t figure out this annoying problem.. If that helps this is from the source code of xml:
    <a href=""></a>
    Is there some way like a code snippet or anything just to remove extra sitemap?? or to edit it manually I don’t know…

    Hi, I am seeing the same issue. The sitemap returns an error at Google because of the empty entry at the end. I have tried turning everything off and on again but it still shows, eg (domain redacted):

    <?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?><?xml-stylesheet type=”text/xsl” href=”//www.DOMAIN/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/css/main-sitemap.xsl”?>
    <sitemapindex xmlns=”https://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9″&gt;
    <sitemap>
    <loc>https://www.DOMAIN/page-sitemap.xml</loc&gt;
    <lastmod>2022-07-04T15:23:47+00:00</lastmod>
    </sitemap>
    <sitemap><loc></loc></sitemap></sitemapindex>
    <!– XML Sitemap generated by Yoast SEO –>

    Is there any way to debug this?

    Hi @steelemedia
    Do you use woocommerce too? And what cache plugin? Also I have a bunch of extra plugins for the woocommerce.

    Hello, @valker95 and @steelemedia. I am sorry for the delay in responding.

    Please temporarily deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default theme to confirm how many individual sitemaps are reported in the sitemap_index.xml.

    Hello, So in the end I found my problem, it is the woof – woocommerce products filter plugin. What I did I made a localhost backup of my site and experiment there. Tried changing the theme, and after deactivating my plugins one by one so I found that something is wrong with woof plugin with sitemaps. So I guess I will switch to another filter plugin or maybe tweak it’s settings or something if anybody knows.
    Thanks for your help !
