    Hi!
I installed Relevanssi plugin and is very useful for my needs.
I have to index only one custom post type (60.000 records) and the related taxonomies.
When I start to index, until 20.000/30.000 records is ok, but then It slows down a lot:
indexing continues one record at a time.
Fields indexed are custom field created with Toolset and are all simple text field. One custom post types contains about 1000 characters in total (not so big).
I have already read some topic about this argument so I choose:
    No author index
    No expanded shortcodes
    Only specified custom fields indexed.
I only got some improvements but the problem remains.
    Any idea to speed up?
    Thanks in advance

Does it help if you restart the indexing? Ie. stop the process, then click “Index unindexed posts”? Does the indexing restart at faster rate, or at the slow pace?

Some people have reported problems like this, and in those cases indexing in smaller batches has been helpful. Especially if you have WP CLI and Relevanssi Premium, it’s easy to make Relevanssi index, say, 10,000 posts at the time to make the indexing run much faster.

If the indexing is still slow, the problem is probably caused by the indexing database query. Relevanssi needs to tell the the database to return all posts except the ones it has already indexed, and at 20,000 posts, that’s quite the heavy query already.

It may also be that with your hosting, Relevanssi is simply not capable of indexing such a big number of posts. Relevanssi is designed for thousands of posts, not for tens of thousands of posts.

Hi Mikko! Thanks for the answer.
No, unfortunately if I start again with the “index unindexed posts” it immediately slows down.
At the moment I’m using the free version. However, I can consider using the premium version if it solves the problem. Research is fine. It is only indexing which is too slow.

Premium might help, if your host has WP CLI available – that might be a faster way to index, doing something like 1000 posts at the time or so. But I can’t guarantee that it’s any faster. If your host doesn’t have WP CLI, then Premium won’t be of any use.

It may well be that you need a more robust search solution that uses an external server to do the indexing.

    Thanks Mikko.
In the meantime, I have finished indexing and the searches are fast enough.
    ??
    Excellent plugin
