• Hi,

I wish to use the Relevanssi for searching my custom post type.

However, I checked the custom post type “portfolio” and “gallery” but it still doesn’t work.

Later I found that on the section of “indexing options”, the “public” column shows that “portfolio” and “gallery” is no.

I have already unchecked “Respect exclude_from_search for custom post types:” according to other support tickets. Still it doesn’t work.

    May you help?

    Thanks!

That should be enough. Next thing I’d check is to see if your site search is restricted to a particular post type by the search form or theme settings.

Hi, I finally fix the problem of showing in the search result

However, I found that sometimes I cannot search the portfolio post with certain keywords. Those keywords are the same text of the portfolio title.

Usually the title first word or last word of the title can be searched. Those words in the middle cannot be searched and shown on the result list.

    Any solution on improving it?

    Thank you very much.

You’re searching in Chinese? That’s the problem. Relevanssi doesn’t understand Chinese, as the language doesn’t have separate words like European languages do.

I see. I have installed a plugin for custom fields. I added the keywords into the fields, and allow the plugin to index all the content inside my custom fields. It works well for my Chinese content pages.

Advanced Custom Fields may require some extra hacking, it may be that it’s not perfectly compatible with Relevanssi. I don’t remember how it exactly works, where and how it stores the content of the advanced custom fields.
