• I am facing a steep WordPress learning curve since moving from MT last night. I have my page working (not looking at all how I want it to, but working) but I moved my index.php file into the root of my site following the instructions but now when I make changes to my template via my WordPress admin page thing they don’t show up in my site and i have to do it via ftp. It’s like it’s still updating the old index.php in my WordPress directory? Have I missed something? It did say in the instructions to fill in my database details again in wp-config.php – but as they’re exactly the same as they always were I got a bit confused. I’m in newbie hell.

  • Well I would look at this another way. Many of us only style our templates in the admin page thing when we are away from our own machines. Give me a decent text editor and ftp every time. A local install can help as well if you do not want any styling calamities to go live. Good Luck and Welcome.

And you may not have seen this. Scroll right down on arrival.
The winner – as I recall – in the style competition.
