Used this plugin for years. It’s a godsend.

However I’ve been updating my site, disabled it for a few months, brought it back, and now it’s creating auto redirects to the pages which are being looked up. Even if a page exists, the plugin creates a redirect to the page, and users get stuck in an infinite loop, and time out at “Too many redirects”

    Thoughts?

    Hi,

So if you turn on debug logging (Settings -> 404 Solution -> Options -> Advanced Settings Etc -> Debug logging (check the box)), and then try one of the infinite redirect pages, could you paste the results from the log at https://pastebin.com?

You can view the log at Settings -> 404 Solution -> Options -> Advanced Settings Etc -> View.

    thanks

It looks like I can create an infinite loop if a redirect destination doesn’t exist.

Is there a user-specified 404 page in the settings that doesn’t exist?

There could also be a redirect pointing to a page that was deleted…

I’ll update it to make sure a page exists before it redirects to it and move the redirect to the trash otherwise. It could take a few days.

    Hey,

So actually I wasn’t able to reproduce this error with any kind of redirect besides the user-specified 404 page. Please try version 2.20.2 and include a log file from pastebin if the issue persists because I don’t know how else to reproduce it.

    thanks!

Let me know if the issue persists or if you can help me reproduce it.
    thanks
