I agree – I did see a post here that suggested WordPress Dashboardh 300, Front End disabled, Post Editor 60 so I am trying that. Anyone have any thoughts?

Depends on your server’s CPU load. If it’s still too high while editing posts or when performing other administrative tasks in the panel, try using longer heartbeat update times. Front end disabled should work fine for most websites, unless you need near real-time notifications, (e.g. in a buddypress installation).
