• A site that I revamped a week ago wasn’t getting indexed by Google although the number of posts was/are getting added.

Anyway, after reading an article I decided to uninstall (not just disable) the SEO plug-in to see if it would make any difference.

Well after two days and not seeing any improvement in indexing I re-installed the plug-in.

And to my surprise all the info was still there!

    Pleasantly surprised!

The titles, description and keywords etc.

So just out of interest, where did the plugin store the information?

    Thanks

where did the plugin store the information?

    In your site’s database.

    Thanks Esmi.

I was pleased and surprised that the plug-in left all the info.

Not sure that I’d like every plug-in to do it.

    Do you think it’s common?

It depends on how the plugin is written. Some delete the data that they add in, but most dont – for precisely the reason that you’ve come across now. It’s all up to the plugins developer.

It’s actually considered best practice to remove all plugin data when the plugin is deleted.
