iDEAL is the most popular payment method in the Netherlands. Customers can pay through the safe online banking environment of their own bank with iDEAL. iDEAL is operated by Currence.
The ING-iDeal Advanced (v3), ING-iDeal basic, ING-Kassa Compleet are different plans that are given to the clients from ING, based on their needs?
Merchants can choose from a wide variety of payment service providers to accept iDEAL payments. This can either be the bank of the business banking account or a third party payment provider. As for ING Bank, they currently offer iDEAL Basic and iDEAL Advanced (one of the main difference being that payment statuses can be fetched from within WordPress only with the Advanced integration; Basic integrations rely on a callback from ING Bank to update payment statuses, which in our experience is often unreliable). ING Kassa Compleet is not offered anymore (this integration was also able to accept other payment methods, like Bancontact for Belgium customers).
Is there anything else I should know, for me to connect the ING bank account of my client’s with his Woocommerce e-shop?
Depending on the (future) needs regarding the payment method(s) your client wants to offer, it might be worth considering using a third party payment service provider (like Mollie, Sisow, etc.).
