The site has two membership levels, only one of which is for public use (the other is for admins), are both are free. We don’t take any payments via the site, and users cannot register on their own — we create their account for them and assign them to a specific membership.

However, when we add their account, they don’t receive any emails at all. It doesn’t matter what domain the user is on (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, business domains), they still don’t come through.

Interestingly, when we change a user’s membership level, they do receive an email stating their their account has been upgraded, and advising them to log in.

So, my question is: Should an email be sent out automatically when we manually register new members? If so, why is that not being sent when other emails generated by WordPress/your plugin are obviously working?

  • I am also having the same issue and none of my emails are being sent to admin or buyers after successful payment.

I have tried redirecting them to the registration page but that just says:

“Free membership is disabled on this site. Please make a payment from the Join us page to pay for a premium membership.

You will receive a unique link via email after the payment. You will be able to use that link to complete the premium membership registration.”

    This does not happen.

Have checked email is ok on the website’s host so don’t know what the problem is. Please help this is URGENT

PayPal is sending invoices and payment notification but no simple membership emails. ??

goviral, it sounds like your issue is different, as yours involve payments, and my situation specifically is for completely free memberships, and no self-registration (we are registering all member accounts manually from WordPress). You should start a new topic for your issue to avoid confusing any readers.

@gocreative can you enable Debug Mode and carry out another test by creating a test account. Once that is done can you then check the log file.

    Thank you

I just did that, but the log file is completely empty even after adding a new test account. I also still didn’t receive the email.

Can you uninstall the plugin and then install it again. Enable Debug mode and carry out another test. Then check the log file.

    Thank you

Since my last message, with Debug Mode still enabled, there’s a single entry:

[11/16/2015 1:16 AM] – SUCCESS :After login redirection addon. Checking if member need to be redirected.

However, I then uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, disabled Debug Mode, enabled Debug Mode again, and created a new user. But still no email was sent, and nothing extra was logged in the debug mode log file.

Have you tried the following option yet, go to WP Membership -> Settings -> Tools, you can manually create and send another registration link to those who missed it or did not receive it.

    (@gocreative)

Yep. The link it generates is:

    https://mywebsite.com.au/contact/?member_id=12&code=

So there’s no code on the end, and the URL is actually incorrect. I’m not sure why it’s inserting “contact” in there. Pasting the link in another browser (i.e. not logged in), does nothing.

Also, when I select to send the email, it’s still not received. So it seems the only email that works is the one that is sent when the member’s membership level is changed.

Sorry, I just realised why “contact” was in the URL. But the rest of the above information is accurate.

Hi, I just carried out a test to recreate the registration URL. I receive a similar registration URL as you mentioned above. I copied and paste that URL to another browser and it brings me to the registration page.

I can confirm that it works for me.
