Initial test of the plugin
-
Hey
I am checking out the ease of use of the features, options present, UI and in general how the plugin is put together.
Install. The plugin has a fairly long title.
“GDPR Cookie Compliance (CCPA, PIPEDA ready)”Has a lot of under title links. Which make it take up too much space in the Installed screen compared to most other plugins.
Settings – Deactivate – Support – Buy Premium – Troubleshoot
Could be cut down to:
Settings – Deactivate – Support – Get Premium (Remove Troubleshoot as that is really a part of the support area.)These links are fairly messy. It would be better that these lead to a section in the GDPR settings of the site it is installed in.
Btw GDPR Cookie Compliance can also be added in the submenu of WP Settings. So that it goes not crowd the WP menu sidebar.
Settings page.
Menu sidebar: Grey background, then black background and then white background.
It is better to keep everything in one color but separating with a HR line or something to create a separation. It feels a bit messy as it looks right now.Quickly looking through various sidebar tabs.
All Orange links are a part of the Premium version. Ok.
A typical feature such as “Accept on Scroll / Hide timer” is a part of the premium version. That I find a bit strange. In general it is better to see how WordPress in general does the UI and then emulate create a similar UI for one own plugin, as that is something people will recognize.
Too much focus on the Premium version. Create a really good free version that people use and from there many will purchase the premium version.
