Initial wordpress database table relation missing!

  • Hi Everyone,

    I am a newbie to wordpress. This question may seem silly to many of you.

    I download and install the wordpress. As I use MySQLWorkbench to exam the basic database tables that come with the wordpress, I notice the table relations are missing.

    However the wordpress documents(see https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Database_Description under Database Diagram) does show the relations.

    Am I supposed to manually modify the tables and add the relations? Or did I do something wrong during the installation process to cause the relations not shown?

  • The question is, does your site work correctly? If it does then everything you did is correct. Whether a database workbench program is showing table relationships doesn’t matter if WordPress is working.

    WordPress does not always use database tables in a classic normalized way. This may be part of what you are experiencing.
