    Hi there,

thanks for this great plugin! It looks very promising and i hope that it will get even better in the next few weeks / months…

I’ve got one problem with this plugin:

As far as i have seen all those block settings which can be made (fe. color, margins, paddings, font sizes, what so ever) are applied as inline styles on the code elements. This behaviour is a little bit tricky.

Fe: When i’m using AB Container there’s white as default background selected. Imagine you’re creating a site with a black background (as i’m doing now) – the background color should be transparent. So the only way to avoid this is to make a custom css code with background: none !important, but that also means that there’s no way to select another background color for let’s say another element.

Of course this is not only a problem with colors. All those styles within the block settings mess up the basic styles of the site.

Wouldn’t it be somehow possible to only define those styles inline which are set by the user?

Do you know what i mean? Would be really great if there could be another approach to those things…

    Hey there,

Thanks for the heads up on this. I can definitely tweak the styles on some of those to only be displayed if the color is set. We’re also tweaking some other ways the styles are being applied, so stay tuned!

I’m glad you’re looking at this, as the plugin seems to have lots of useful functionality – thanks for putting it together.
Not everyone uses black and white colour schemes, and if I restyle my web page, I don’t want to have to go through all of my content to make it compatible.
I’d actually like to take this request a bit wider, and apply the same to (for example) font sizes – again, I think these should default to the theme settings.
Other controls which might be useful :
. A ‘width’ slider, so (for example) testimonials and calls to action don’t take 100% of width.
. The ability to set top and bottom margins, and borders – again primarily on testimonials and calls to action.

For those who like to fiddle about with CSS files, is might be useful to include a check for a user-defined ‘upgrade safe’ CSS file, so that if the plugin is updated, then the user’s settings aren’t overwritten.
I know that the BNS Inline Asides plugin (which I currently use for ‘accordion’ functionality) has implemented something on these lines.
    Again, many thanks,
    Drew
