The <!--more--> tag is ignored in Pages unless you carry out a 2-step customisation of the template.

1. Just before <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>, add <?php global $more;?>
2. Change <?php the_content(); ?> to <?php $more = 0;the_content(); ?>

I can’t see any indication of the <!--nextpage--> tag.
