Input Type SELECT choice selection Issue

Please confirm if this is just us, or it is a known issue? After we create a SELECT field, and populate it with a lot of choices (for example, when creating a country dropdown), pressing a letter on a keyboard does not skip to the choices beginning with that letter.

This is how all SELECT fields in DOM have been working for more than a decade. Pressing a letter to skip to choices starting with that letter.

On mobile, Formality works fine because we just go to the option with a quick slide with our finger. But on desktop, it is a major hassle going down to find a choice (skipping one at a time) in a big list like a country selection dropdown.

Can something be done to fix this immediately?
