Regarding the problem: Something looks broken here, indeed.
Please try updating on the “Plugins” screen in the admin area of your site. Otherwise, you might have to update all plugins manually, via FTP.

Also, can you please temporarily deactivate all other plugins, except TablePress, to see if the problem still happens?
