Insert cart icon above search bar in Storefront header

I did not like the primary search menu bar that appeared under the header that is installed out of the box with the Storefront theme, so I hid it using CSS in my style sheet and inserted my menu in the secondary menu area. It looks much better. https://www.alexgekas.com/bohemienne

I am looking to add a cart to the header just to the right of the social media icons. What is the best way to do this?
