Insert Gallery?

    I’m attempting to put together a blog using the sidewinder theme from Graphpaper Press. I’m having troubles inserting a gallery, specifically I can’t find the “Insert Gallery” button that is mentioned in the several tutorials that I’ve read and viewed. I’m able to insert images and view them on a page but they don’t format to the theme. I’ve followed the Sidewinder Theme instructions, it too says to “click insert gallery button” and am designating a featured image. My themes are up to date. Can someone please tell me where this mythical button is? Tearing my hair out here…..

    Are you uploading more than one image whilst working on a given Post or Page via the Add Media button?

    Yes, the gallery I’m working on has 20 images.

    Are these all listed when you edit the relevant Post or Page and select Add Media?

    Are you asking if I can see the images in the editor? Yes. When I select Add Media I get a pop up window with 3 tabs for selecting media: From Computer, From URL, and Media Library. A tutorial I viewed awhile ago had showed an additional Gallery tab under which I believe the Insert Gallery button was, that does not appear in my Add Media window.

    Do you see any images listed in that popup? If not, then you have not uploaded the image whilst working on that particular Page or Post. See https://codex.www.ads-software.com/User:Esmi/The_WordPress_Gallery

    Ok, I am just flummoxed. I’ve reviewed your link (thank you) but I must be missing something simple. I have 20 images in the editor that I can see. If I click Add Media I am presented with the 3 tabs I mentioned before. I don’t see anything until I select a tab. When I select show image and then Insert Into Post I’m sent directly back to the editor. I’m not given any options to save changes. I should mention that I’m selecting images from the Media Library, should I grab directly from my computer instead?

    And that’s the point. You did not upload these images whilst your were working on that Post or Page. Otherwise, you would see them all listed as soon as the popup appears with an Insert Gallery button at the bottom of the (now fairly long) popup.

    I think I figured it out, I need to upload from my computer. When I did that the gallery tab appeared in the Add Media window. Odd that I can’t add from the Media Library?

    Definitely have it figured out, will mark this as resolved although I still don’t understand
    why I can’t pull images from my Media Library to create a gallery. Thanks for your help!
