• I use Table of Contents and just started dabbling with Insert Pages, which I planned to use intensively, but turns out I have to hold my horses atm ??

When I embed a post titled ‘Red wine spit test’ into another post, what happens is, the table of contents gets appended at the start of the inserted post, instead of at the top of at the top of the parent post.

I think both plugins are great and suspect this might need fixing, if that’s decided by you guys of course, on the side of Table of Contents. Therefore, I’ll shoot in a thread there too.

Hi, thank you for getting in touch with us. We have checked on our end and upon adding a new post, we did not observe any changes on the homepage. The table of contents (TOC) remains unchanged on the homepage. You can also verify this in the screenshots provided here: https://paste.pics/PCEM6. We recommend clearing your cache and trying again. If you continue to experience the same issue, please don’t hesitate to inform us.

Hi,We noticed that you were attempting to add a post within a post using the insert post feature as this is not in default in the editor, Could you please let us know which plugin you are using for the Table of Contents (TOC) so that we can investigate further on our end?

    Thread Starter progonkpa

    (@progonkpa)

    Of course @magazine3

The name of the plugin is ‘Insert Pages’.

Hi, we have checked on our end using the same steps and inserted the plugin as you mentioned. We followed every step from the video you shared and tried to recreate the issue, but after applying all the settings and steps, it’s working as normal on our end. The table of contents (TOC) appears at the top of the page.

Could you please share the TOC export settings with us so we can give it another try. Additionally, we would like to know if you are using any other settings that were not mentioned in the video?

    I sure can.

I removed the post with the video, however, the video is still available here.

I also tested some more, this time with a child post without a ToC and with ToC disabled in the post settings, however, the behavior is identical as before, somewhat to my surprise ??

Hi there, Thank you for your update. Just to clarify, are you saying that the behavior remains the same even when the Table of Contents (ToC) is disabled in the post settings? Could you please elaborate on what you mean by ‘identical behavior’?

Furthermore, it might be a good idea to test for conflicts with other plugins and your theme to see if any of them might be causing this issue. This could provide more insight into the problem. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

The child post did not have a ToC and had ToC disabled in its post, however the behavior was identical, meaning the table of contents (from parent) got appended at the start of the inserted post, instead of at the top of at the top of the parent post.
