Insert subscriber name in the email dont work

Hi,
I love your plugin and been installing it with a few of my clients.
I have a problem to add the subscriber name to the email. after clicking the automated button, I select %name% from the drop down but nothing happen on the page. I tried to insert the %name% in the html editor as well.
it seems that I miss something. is there a code that pull the subscriber name from the subscriber list and display it automatically?
