    Hi Tobias,
great job this plugin. Following a question to ask for a workaround about TablePress.
I collect data daily in some paper table-sheets (one site-one table), then I insert data in some web pages when I come back at home: the data are recorded in a single table (one day is one record of the table, the next day is the next record, and so on, for each site, for each table). TablePress is perfect to show data on web page. But I’d like improve my filling activity of the tables, if possible writing data directly into the tables (not from backend area in wordpress) maybe through a data upload mask with a smartphone/tablet or small-pc. Can you suggest a workaround to use correctly TablePress to do this data collecting more simply? For example, connecting an example of upload mask to TablePress. Thank you a lot, Francesco

  • Maybe You could scan Your paper document by scanner or smartphone and some OCR application (like Fine Reader) and it will be converted to .xls file (Excell).
Then You can import this file to the TablePress and Your table will be created automatically.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

No, sorry, unfortunately, I’ll have to disappoint you here. Something like is not possible with TablePress. It only supports editing tables from its admin screens at this time.

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thank you jurado and TobiasBg for your support.
I have to adapt TablePress to my needs, then I’ll organize this job with as following:a light tablet internet-connected by data-SIM + a new WordPress account into the web site + a TablePress already well organized (without mask) in the web page.
In this way, I can write manually data and send it directly on the web page. Furthermore, this solution allows to see the data of the previous records (previous days) during the manual input (this can help). I’ll find a solution to generate graphs from data in TablePress Kind regards. Francesco
