Insert/Edit Hooks

The best way to get examples for third party action hooks & filters in action is via one of these plugins:

– Widget Pack
– Tagalong
– Enhanced Search
– Enhanced Results

Tagalong will be the closest as far as extending the SQL update statements, and using the multi-variant (serialized) option_value field to store extra data.

Alright thanks for the reply. I noticed another user is saying they may have made something for user submitted events. I may hold off I working on this til I see how that shakes out

BTW, I just spent a few hours updating the hooks & filters lists with a dozen new entries. As I extend/develop my own add-on packs I continue to update the baseline SLP plugin to make it as extensible & flexible as possible.

As for user submitted locations that is going to require some extensive work on roles & capabilities. May be a good starting point to do a simple “Roll Call” add-on pack that adds a few roles & capabilities to the SLP system upon which other add-ons like “Submit A Location” tool for end-users.

I obviously can’t be sure of how your entire audience would need to handle the roles. For my purposes it is the store owners themselves who need to be able to create/edit locations (from the frontend) just as they would any other post or field. The tricky part is that the slp tables have their own unique setup.
