Insert/Edit Link Error In Visual Editor – Doesn't Save Link and Redirects

  • When using the Visual Editor users can not use the insert/edit link button. The interface pops up to enter the URL and search, but search provides no results. Then if the user enters a URL to link to and hits save the page is then reloaded showing the backend posts list and the link is never created. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.
