Inserting a lead story slideshow into a different theme…

Ok…

I am trying to use an element from one theme and put it into a theme that I like better. Of course, I am running into issues, and I was hoping for a little direction. This may be a simple fix, because my php knowledge is pretty slim.

I am wanting to place the slideshow from the Massive News theme in the place of the “mainimage” element in the Fresh-Editorial theme that I am currently using.

I have inserted the code…
<?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . '/featured.php'); ?>

…where the mainimage was in the original theme. I have also brought over the slideshow.css, featured.php, and the script files for the massive news theme.

I thought this would just work and I could tweak the css, but no dice. Instead, the page just ends after my header.

Am I missing something?
