• I’m not a coding genius and I’m new to WordPress, and I’m also having difficulty inserting my jpg logo in front; to the left, of the title of all of my pages. I selected the header.php file within the appearance editor and changed the reference to my existing image and the template continues to show the image that came with the template, ignoring my changes, not sure what to do?

    thank you in advance!

  • What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

Theme Go Daddy Real Humble Hero with 6 Widgets. downloaded from WordPress.

Do not edit the Hero theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes.

what are the steps in creating a child theme?
    ignore this post!

You cannot do it from the Dashboard (answering your question in the other (wrong) thread).

    Thank you WPyogi, and esmi.
after realizing that I had to use an external product like fileZilla, the remaining steps to obtain FTP access in the creation of my child theme was simple. One last question, should I copy the entire script from the WordPress appearance editor and then past it within my child-theme for modification?

After modification, is there a special sequence in getting the modified script to display on the web in place of the original script?

should I copy the entire script from the WordPress appearance editor

Yes, copy the entire file unless the file is style.css or functions.php .

I figured it out, thanks Andrew!

As an inexperienced WordPress developer I have kept my customizations to a minimum while I learn and become more familiar with the tools and how these codes are structured.
Well I thought I had it figured out!
After creating a child theme for the Go Daddy Real Humble Hero theme and a correlating style.css file within my content-theme directory, I still cannot change the font of my title, add a subtitle and incorporate a logo to the left of my title? How do I turn off the default code so that my changes will take effect? How do I contact the theme author?

@webmancj Can you please specify your URL.
