Inserting interactive single State Map with regions

I am a complete newbie to doing website stuff. Using Headway Themes, finding it challenging, confusing and frustrating (because I know zip). So please respond to me like I am the neophyte I am.

Would like to insert an image of the state of Florida that is divided into regions. I already have the image I want to use. I would like for it to be interactive so that people can click their region and see a list of contacts for clubs in their region.

If it’s possible I’d like to be able to place just the state onto the page, as if the background is transparent so that it doesn’t look like it is sitting in a square of color that doesn’t match the page.

Any advice is appreciated!
