  • Same problem here, “Instagram has returned invalid data”.

Yep, looks like the old __a=1 JSON way of pulling the feed has now been nuked:

    https://www.instagram.com/iangeek/?__a=1

… which then triggers the “invalid data” error ??

Instagram web version was down that is why plugin caused error “invalid data”.

You can check it here: https://downdetector.com/status/instagram

The Plugin was fixed already and not using JSON __a=1. Nothing new was added on Instagram side, I’ve just checked the code.

Try clearing WP cache, reloading page or clearing transient from database.

Sounds like this might be all fixed now the website has recovered. I didn’t see any issues myself so this may have been isolated geographically.

Can you confirm all is well? I can then close the thread.

Yep, confirmed fixed. Sorry for false alarm. Just feared the worst as I know Instagram are playing around with the API stuff a lot at the moment. Saw a few others referencing it on Twitter too, but guess it was an isolated blip.
