    The following error appears when I try to embed Instagram onto my website:

    Feed Them Social (Notice visible to Admin only). Instagram returned: Please go to the Instagram Options page of our plugin a double check your Instagram ID matches the one used in your shortcode on this page.

    I have tried several troubleshooting steps I found throughout the support forum but to no avail.

    Thanks for the help

    Hi @luskym,

    Sorry for the troubles. Let’s see if we can fix the issue.

    Please make sure you are running the latest version of Feed Them Social (which is currently 2.7.8).

    Make sure you are signed into the Instagram account you wish to display.

    Try Clearing the cache by clicking to Feed Them tab > Settings > Global Options > Clear cache

    If you have completed these steps and are still experiencing the issue, try this:

    Try going to your instagram account and then click the settings gear icon so you see the popup of options.

    Now click on the Authorized Apps option.

    Once on the next page click Revoke Access under the Feed Them Social App.

    Now go back to the Instagram Options page in our plugin and click the button to get a new access token.

    Lastly, Try Clearing the cache by clicking to Feed Them tab > Settings > Global Options > Clear cache

    Be sure to clear any other Caching plugins you may have installed also.

    Let me know how it goes.

    Hey @slickchris,

    Thanks for the quick reply. I went through the steps above but I still have the same issues.

    Hi @luskym,

    Try deactivating all other plugins besides the Feed Them Social plugins temporarily. Then test to see if it works. If this works, try reactivating them, one by one, to see which one is causing the issue.

    If deactivating all plugins doesn’t help the issue try switching themes to one of the default WordPress themes then look at the page (this can be done under the Appearance tab of your install). It’s possible the theme is causing errors.

    Let me know how it goes.

    @slickchris,

    Deactivating all plugins and switching to a default theme did not solve the issue.

    Hi @luskym,

    My apologies for the issue. I’ve just been informed by our developer team that Instagram has, in the past few days, clamped down on it’s API calls. I wasn’t aware of this and was trying to help through our standard troubleshooting protocols.

    The error is happening because too many calls (well, what Instagram suddenly deems as “too many”) have been made so they will not return the info from API. We are actually working on resolving this in our upcoming update, so that if no info is returned from the API that the feed will still stay up. However the feed should come back up in a few hours for you once the requests are minimized.

    Again, sorry for the issue, we are doing all we can to resolve it.

    Best regards,

    Chris

    @slickchris

    After waiting for requests to Instagram to subside, I tested the site this morning to see if the feed showed up. Unfortunately, it has yet to appear. I’ll keep an eye out for an update for FTS. Thank you for your assistance.

    Please go to the Instgram Options page of our plugin in the wp-admin and look to see if your access token is showing a green success message.

    Yes, it is showing a green success message:

    Your access token is working! Generate your shortcode on the Settings Page
