I have two feeds in my footer, one for facebook and the other for instagram. The instagram feed doesn’t work anymore as you’ll see from the video link supplied.

I use Divi Child theme and use the shortcodes in a global footer file using Divi’s global theme builder. I regenerated the token for instagram and placed it in the footer as well as just placing the code in a page, neither work.

How do I fix this? It has happened to the instagram feed more than once, never to the facebook feed?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @tcoms,

    1) Make sure that you are not running any Facebook blocking extensions in your browser (like FB Container in Firefox for example).

    2) Make sure that you are running the most recent Feed Them Social free plugin, currently 2.9.8.10 (our developers have just addressed an IG Basic access token expiration issue, so good news there moving forward).

    3) I’m sure you are, but if not, please make sure you are using a shortcode block in your footer.

    4) After the above have been confirmed, you may need to gain a new IG Basic access token, then generate a new IG Basic shortcode and replace the old shortcode. Then, after you update/publish, clear the FTS cache so that the changes can take effect.

    This should resolve your issue,

thanks. I have done all that you have suggested already including generating a new ig basic shortcode and that is what I placed inside the test page just to make sure the divi module wasn’t somehow affecting the rendering of the script. I have done it again, cleared the fts cache, browser cache and server cache but the problem persists?

sorry, just to clarify, I don’t use Gutenburg blocks. I use divi modules as the builder. I have also just placed the shortcode into a page without using any blocks/builder. The results are the same. It doesn’t render the images, but when you mouse over the area, it shows a holder for each instagram post. (see video)

    Hi @tcoms,

We do have a few other affected users at the moment. And although we can not replicate this on our end, this is either a current glitch with the Instagram API (happens sometimes), locally or globally, or it may be tied to FB requiring that all EU (and most non-US) users accept their cookies consent.

Either way, we will need to take a deeper look and will get back to you shortly.

    Best regards

Okay, thanks. I am in Canada and it’s not required to have a cookie policy as they do in Europe. We have stated our policy in our terms, but are not required to have consent.

We did just change our app version from 6.0 to 7.0. Try deleting our app again from your facebook account https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools&ref=settings and then try to reacquire a new access token. Make sure and replace the new access token in your shortcode if that’s how you have it configured.

IF you only are using one instagram feed on your website you don’t have to include the access token in the shortcode. This makes updating the token easier in the future. FTS 3.0 will be released soon and will resolve that particular issues.

Hmm,not sure why it works on one of the other sites I use it on, but not the one I mentioned?

I run this on a few pages, so if I remove the app from my facebook dashboard, will it only remove it from the one page, or all of them.

When do you think the update will be released?

Pushing the update in about 10 minutes. You will not need to delete the facebook app. You may need to delete the feed cache is all.

    I haven’t received a notification that there’s a new version? It’s still not working?

Visit the plugins page on your website and you should see an update notice. If not just delete the plugin and install the latest version, you won’t lose any settings.
