Just switched to this plugin. I filled out all the sections but Instagram & G+ counts are not showing. I did fill in the Google API key for G+, and for Instagram it only asks for the user name. I would like to give you a 5 start rating, but I will need to get these two working first. Thank you. Also, one suggestion-what about a vertical float? Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Thanks Deborah.

You can get the icons in vertical arrangement if you select 1 icon per row under question 6. Also see https://www.ultimatelysocial.com/faq.

Instagram has started limiting the number of requests, you can see the status quo here https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/instagram-count-showing-zero?replies=16.

G+ counts should show. What’s your blog url so that we can check?

Ok thank you! Wow- 1 icon per row-so easy peacey. ??
OK-Instagram-will keep watching. I used the same API I had for a different social share button. Should I have made a new one then? Here is my G+ https://plus.google.com/112471029613514719941/posts

Yes, please try with a new one.

I tried a new Google API key-but nothing is showing, yet anyway.

Here is my site in case you want a reference.

It’s difficult to say what the issue is, maybe the API key hasn’t been set up properly. It works fine on other sites.

You had an update last night-which I did install. There is a warning showing on the dashboard now. I saw it once last night, and now again.

    5. Do you want to display “counts” next to your main icons?

I have to run-back later. Not sure where I will set that permission, Do you mean in my FTP client or somewhere else?

I think this is a server setting if I’m not mistaken. Please ask your server team to do so.

Checking with them now-will let you know what they say. Thank you.

Okay, I just received a message from the server guys. This is what they wrote:

I have added the following to your .htaccess file

    php_flag allow_url_fopen On

Please test the plugin to confirm.

I have tested the plugin and the warning is still coming up. Of course it shows up in the footer on all the pages by the looks of it.

    Back to the drawing board?

There is something weird on your site, but it’s hard to say what the issue is without access. Could you please ask the developer about it who is working on your site?

    Thread Starter Deborah

    (@redgypsee)

I am the one who built the site. Weird in what way? Does your plugin have any known conflicts with other plugins? The site has been functioning fine before this.

We reduced conflicts with other plugins as much as possible. Could you please try to deactivate the other plugins and see if the error persists? Please also change the theme to see if that helps.
