Instagram widget not working

  • I’ve been using the Smash Balloon Instagram plugin for some time and I’m very pleased with it. However, since a few weeks, the widget that shows the last Instagram photo on my webpage isn’t working anymore. It displays the text “Instagram has returned invalid data.”. I didn’t change any of the settings and are on the latest version of the plugin.

    The plugin does work, on my ‘photos’ page on the website it does correctly show photos form my Instagram feed.

    Any thoughts on what could be wrong with the widget and how to fix this?

    Hey najrarejiem,

    I’m glad you like the plugin! While you are using Instagram Feed by Smash Balloon on your “Photos” page, I’m afraid another plugin or part of your theme is responsible for the widget you are having trouble with. There isn’t anything in our plugin that outputs that error message.

    You could try replacing this widget with a plain “text” widget with the shortcode inside:

    [instagram-feed]

    You can add settings in the shortcode to make it work well in a sidebar:

    [instagram-feed num=4 cols=2]
