Hi, Im currently working on a test subdomain, building up a store for an art gallery. I would like to know if there is any possibility of installing a different theme for the shop. Ive been reading there is a multiple theme plugin but this plugin hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress… I dont want to have compatibility issues, so this one is not an option for me at the moment. What is the best to do in my situation?

    thanks in advance.

    Hey there!

You can use one theme per WordPress site. If your shop and normal site are both on the same WordPress site (which is very common), then you’ll need to use the same theme. If you’d like to use separate themes, you’d need to separate them into two separate sites.

I do see that you can do it using the Multiple Themes plugin, but I haven’t personally tested it. You could give it a try and see what happens!

There us also a newer plugin, tested up to WordPress 5.1.x called “WXY Advanced Multitheme”. It allows you to easily assign a theme and template to any post or page directly from the edit screen for that post/page. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wxy-advanced-multitheme/
