• Hi,

I have uploaded the buddypress folder (zipped) to my GoDaddy windows host using my secondary domain sweepbook.com, but nothing seems to happen accept getting the normal 404 error.

Is there something I need to do after the uploading of the files and are there any step by step guides I can follow.

    Sorry, I’m new to this.

    Thx!

  • If you want to install buddypress you can do it from wordpress admin click on plugins>>>>add new and search for buddypress and install.

    Hi govpatel,

Where do I access wordpress admin?

Got it, but my domain name is still not active yet, it’s been over a week now, so as soon as it’s active I’ll give it a go.

The thing is, I already uploaded buddypress manually to /wp-content/plugins/buddypress/ under my secondary domain sweepbook.com. My primary domain creditcompare.co.za is still not active and the wordpress files is uploaded to creditcompare.co.za/wordpress/.

My question is, what will I do next after the registrar decide to activate my primary domain. Bearing in mind that I want buddypress to operate under sweepbook.com and not creditcompare.co.za.

    Thanks

If you have wordpress installed sweepbook.com then install buddypress in this domain name and delete from creditcompare.co.za

    Hi govpatel,

Thanks for the advise, I moved wordpress from creditcomapre.co.za to sweepbook.com and now have root/sweepbook/wordpress and root/sweepbook/wp-content but still get the 404 error

Seems as if you have not installed wordpress properly you need to install in root of sweepbook.com
